Frequently Asked Questions
Router vs mesh WiFi — which do I need?
A single router is best for apartments and homes under ~2,000 sq ft — it's cheaper and simpler. Choose a mesh system for large homes, multiple floors, or persistent dead zones: multiple nodes blanket your home in seamless coverage. If your current router reaches everywhere with strong signal, you don't need mesh.
Do I need a NAS for backups?
A NAS is the gold standard for automatic, centralized backups across all your devices, plus media streaming and file sharing. For simpler single-device backup, an external HDD is cheaper and sufficient. For the 3-2-1 backup rule (3 copies, 2 media, 1 offsite), a NAS plus cloud sync is ideal.
