The TP-Link Archer BE230 is one of the cheapest ways to get WiFi 7, a dual-band BE3600 router with 2.5Gbps ports that support multi-gig internet plans and fast wired devices. It brings WiFi 7 features such as Multi-Link Operation and better handling of crowded networks, and has more than 1,700 Amazon ratings at 4.2 stars. Its speeds are modest by WiFi 7 standards, and without a 6GHz band it can't use the widest channels, but for apartments and small homes it is a meaningful step up from older WiFi 5 routers. TP-Link's HomeShield adds basic security, with extra features on subscription. Choose the BE230 as an affordable WiFi 7 router for a smaller home; for more speed and range, the Archer BE400 or BE550 are the step up.
