Graphics card prices rose sharply in 2026, so compare a prebuilt's price with what its graphics card costs on its own before deciding.
What else do I need to buy with a Mac mini?
A monitor, a keyboard and a mouse or trackpad. Amazon's listing for the M6 Mac mini includes only the Mac mini and its power cord. Any USB-C or HDMI monitor works, and Bluetooth keyboards and mice pair with it directly.
Is 8GB of graphics memory enough for gaming in 2026?
For 1080p gaming, mostly yes. Activision's recommended spec for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 asks for 8GB of graphics memory, but its ray tracing tier asks for 16GB. If you plan to play at 1440p with ray tracing, choose a card with more than 8GB.
How much RAM does a desktop PC need?
16GB is the sensible standard for office work and most games. 32GB helps with video editing, heavy multitasking and some demanding games: Activision's ray tracing tier for Modern Warfare 4 lists 32GB. Most towers let you add memory later; the Mac mini's memory cannot be upgraded after purchase.
Are refurbished office desktops worth buying?
They can be cheap, but check the age.
