Frequently Asked Questions

How does the router finder tool work?

It's a rule-based filter, not AI. Your answers on priority, home size, device count, and budget are matched against specs (band count, coverage rating, and price) for the 14 routers in our catalog, and the 2-3 closest matches are shown. It's the same filtering logic you could do manually with a spec sheet, just faster.

Do I need WiFi 6E or WiFi 7 right now?

For most people, no. WiFi 6E and 7 need a compatible device to see any benefit, and as of 2026 most phones, laptops, and smart home gear on a typical home network still don't support 6GHz. If your current devices are WiFi 5 or 6, a solid WiFi 6 router will outperform your budget better than paying extra for a standard you can't use yet.

What if none of the recommendations fit my needs?

The tool narrows 14 products to the closest 2-3 matches based on four inputs, so an unusual combination (very large home with a very small budget, for example) may not have a perfect fit in our current lineup. In that case, browse the full Routers category page and filter manually by band count, coverage range, or price.
