Value Score Breakdown
Our Verdict
The TP-Link Archer AX73 is a dual-band WiFi 6 router rated AX5400, with six external antennas for wide coverage, which suits larger single-floor homes. It has more than 8,700 Amazon ratings at 4.5 stars, a strong record, and TP-Link's HomeShield adds parental controls and basic security. Its 5GHz band supports 160MHz channels for fast speeds to compatible WiFi 6 devices. It lacks the 6GHz band and multi-gig ports of newer WiFi 6E and WiFi 7 routers, which matters mainly with very fast internet plans. Choose the AX73 for reliable WiFi 6 coverage in a larger home at a good price; for multi-floor homes with dead spots, a mesh system such as the Deco X55 covers more evenly, and for multi-gig internet, a WiFi 7 router with 2.5Gbps ports.
