Our Verdict
The G.SKILL Ripjaws V 32GB (2x16GB) is a plain DDR4-3200 kit with no lighting, and with more than 5,700 Amazon ratings at 4.7 stars it is one of the most proven DDR4 kits we list. DDR4-3200 is the standard speed for AMD Ryzen 5000 and Intel 12th to 14th generation DDR4 boards, and the kit reaches it with a single XMP or DOCP setting in the BIOS. Its finned heat spreader is low enough to clear most air coolers, though very large coolers are worth checking. Thirty-two gigabytes suits gaming, streaming and photo or video editing. G.SKILL backs it with a lifetime limited warranty. Faster DDR4-3600 kits such as the Trident Z RGB help a little in some Ryzen games but cost more. Choose the Ripjaws V 32GB as dependable, no-frills memory for a DDR4 build or upgrade.
