Our Verdict

The Herman Miller Aeron is the benchmark ergonomic office chair, in production for decades and still the reference for all-day support. This Size B (medium) fits most adults. Its breathable mesh seat and back stay cool during long sessions, unlike leatherette gaming chairs, and its adjustable lumbar support, tilt and armrests let you set a healthy posture for desk work and gaming. Herman Miller backs it with a 12-year warranty, and it has about 600 Amazon ratings at 4.2 stars. Its price is several times that of gaming chairs, and it doesn't recline as far or include a footrest. Choose the Aeron if you sit for many hours every day and want a chair that lasts more than a decade; check the size guide, since Herman Miller makes it in three sizes.
