Our Verdict
The MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk MAX WiFi adds built-in WiFi 6E to the well-regarded B550 Tomahawk design, keeping its strong power delivery, two M.2 slots and fast wired networking. It supports Ryzen 3000 and 5000 processors on AMD's AM4 socket with DDR4, and has more than 1,000 Amazon ratings at 4.5 stars. In our price data it has often cost about the same as or less than the non-WiFi Tomahawk, which makes it the better buy for most AM4 builders. AM4 is an end-of-line platform, so it suits upgrades and builds around chips such as the Ryzen 7 5700X, 5800X3D or Ryzen 9 5900XT. Choose the Tomahawk MAX WiFi as a well-rounded AM4 board with wireless; for a new high-end build, AM5 gives a longer upgrade path.
