Best Budget GPU 2026: Arc B570 vs RTX 3050 vs RX 9060 XT
The Intel Arc B570 is the best budget GPU under $250 in our price data, and the RX 9060 XT 16GB is the pick around $500. Seven cards compared by price and VRAM.
The best budget graphics card right now is the Intel Arc B570 10GB, which cost $229.99 in our price data on October 12, 2026. If you can spend around $500, the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB is the card I'd buy for 1440p, because its 16GB of memory gives it room the 8GB cards at that price lack.

Arc B570 vs RTX 3050: which is better?
The Arc B570 is the better gaming card, and it no longer costs more. It has 10GB of memory against the RTX 3050's 6GB and runs new games at 1080p far more comfortably. The RTX 3050 6GB still has one use: many versions draw power only from the motherboard slot, so it suits office PCs with small power supplies. For a gaming build, skip it.
Arc cards have two caveats. Intel recommends turning on Resizable BAR in the BIOS, and some older DirectX 9 and 11 games still run less smoothly than on AMD or NVIDIA. If your PC is from 2020 or later, the first point is usually a single switch.
Is the Arc B580 worth $140 more?
Only if you play at 1440p. The Arc B580 adds 2GB of memory and more graphics cores, and Tom's Hardware measured it well ahead of the Radeon RX 7600 at 1440p. At 1080p the cheaper B570 gets you most of the way there. The RX 7600 now costs about the same as the B580 with only 8GB, so it is hard to recommend.
Best GPU around $500: RTX 5060 or RX 9060 XT?
I'd buy the RX 9060 XT 16GB. It costs about $60 more than the RTX 5060 in our data but doubles the memory, which matters more each year as games grow. The RTX 5060 makes sense if you want NVIDIA's DLSS 4 frame generation or use NVIDIA-only software for streaming and video work. Our guide to how much VRAM you need explains where 8GB runs out.
My verdict: under $250, buy the Arc B570; around $500, buy the RX 9060 XT 16GB. Every card we track is ranked by value on our graphics card rankings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Intel Arc B570 better than the RTX 3050?
Yes, for gaming. The Arc B570 has 10GB of memory against 6GB on the RTX 3050 6GB and is clearly faster at 1080p, and on October 12, 2026 it was also the cheaper card in our price data.
Is 8GB of VRAM enough in 2026?
For 1080p at medium to high settings, mostly yes. For 1440p or maximum textures in new games, 8GB is tight, which is why I'd choose a 12GB or 16GB card if you plan to keep it for several years.
Do Intel Arc graphics cards need Resizable BAR?
Intel recommends turning on Resizable BAR for Arc cards, and performance drops noticeably without it. Most motherboards from 2020 onward support it as a BIOS setting.
What is the best GPU under $300?
The Intel Arc B570 10GB, at $229.99 in our price data on October 12, 2026. It is the cheapest card we track with more than 8GB of memory.
