Recording history, smart detection and package alerts require an Arlo Secure subscription; without it you get live view and alerts only. Arlo's app is polished and its cameras integrate well if you already use Arlo security cameras. Choose the Arlo 2K doorbell for an Arlo-based security system if you accept the subscription; for free local recording, the TP-Link Tapo D225 is the better value.
