Our Verdict
The G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 32GB (2x16GB) is a DDR4-3600 kit, faster than the standard DDR4-3200, with RGB lighting that syncs with ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light and Razer Chroma. It has about 2,000 Amazon ratings at 4.8 stars and a lifetime limited warranty. The extra speed matters most on AMD Ryzen 5000, where published benchmarks show DDR4-3600 giving a small gain in CPU-heavy games over 3200; on Intel the difference is smaller. Its tall RGB heat spreaders can clash with large air coolers, so check clearance. Against the plain G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4-3200, you pay a little more for speed and lighting; against the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-3200, it is faster for a similar price. Choose the Trident Z RGB for a Ryzen 5000 gaming build where you want both speed and RGB.
