The HyperX Cloud II has been a default recommendation for budget gaming headsets for years, and the huge review count shows why. The aluminium frame and memory-foam pads make it more durable and comfortable over long sessions than most headsets at this level, and the 53mm drivers give clear positional audio for shooters. It connects over 3.5mm, so it works with consoles, controllers and phones, and the included USB control box adds virtual 7.1 surround on PC. The detachable microphone is serviceable for Discord and party chat rather than streaming. The weaknesses are its age: no wireless option, no companion EQ app, and the virtual surround is a matter of taste, since many players prefer it switched off. If you want a wired headset that will survive years of use without surprises, this is still one of the safest choices. Players who want to drop the cable should look at the Cloud III S instead.
