Value Score Breakdown
Our Verdict
The Soundcore Life Q30 is a long-running budget pick for noise cancelling over-ear headphones, with tens of thousands of Amazon ratings behind it. Its hybrid active noise cancelling uses two microphones per ear cup, and Anker claims it filters up to 95% of low-frequency sound, with three modes for transport, outdoor and indoor noise. The 40mm drivers support Hi-Res audio over a cable. Battery life is a strong point: Anker rates it at 50 hours with noise cancelling on and 70 hours with it off, and a 5-minute charge gives about 4 hours. The protein leather ear cups with memory foam sit around the ears, which suits long flights and office days. It is an older design, so it lacks the adaptive noise cancelling and LDAC wireless codec of the newer Space One. Choose it if you want proper noise cancelling on a budget and value battery life over the latest features. If you only need wireless sound for short trips, the cheaper Soundcore Q20i covers the basics.
