The Thermaltake Smart 500W is the correct PSU for a budget first build or a secondary PC running integrated graphics or a discrete GPU no more demanding than an RTX 4060. At $39.99 it is one of the cheapest 80+ certified units available from a known brand. The 80+ White certification means minimum 80% efficiency at load — lower than Gold-rated units, which run at 87–92%. Non-modular cabling is the primary ergonomic trade-off: all cables are permanently attached, so cable management in smaller cases requires effort. The 500W rating is sufficient for a Core i5 or Ryzen 5 paired with a mid-range GPU but leaves no headroom for an upgrade to an RTX 4070 or above. Buy this for a budget PC with no GPU upgrade planned; any upgrade path should start at 650W Gold.
