Our Verdict
The UGREEN DXP8800 Plus is a workstation-class eight-bay NAS with an Intel Core i5-1235U ten-core processor, dual 10GbE ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two M.2 NVMe slots, and 8GB of DDR5 memory expandable to 64GB, sold without drives. The i5 handles several 4K Plex transcodes, Docker containers and virtual machines alongside normal NAS work. It has 81 Amazon ratings at 4.3 stars, a thin record for an expensive system. Thunderbolt allows a fast direct connection to a Mac or PC without a 10GbE switch. Choose the DXP8800 Plus for large media libraries or small studios needing lots of storage and speed; for most homes, a four-bay model such as the DXP4800 Pro is enough.
