The WD Blue SN5100 2TB replaces the SN5000 as WD's mainstream drive and closes most of the speed gap to flagship SSDs, with reads rated up to 7,100 MB/s over PCIe 4.0. That puts it level with drives such as the Crucial P310 on paper while keeping WD's 5-year warranty. Buyers rate it 4.8 stars across more than 900 ratings since its 2025 launch. It comes without a heatsink, so it fits laptops and handheld PCs as well as desktops. For the very heaviest sustained writes, a WD Black or Samsung 990 Pro holds speed longer, but most people will never hit that limit. Choose it as an all-round 2TB upgrade for gaming and everyday use; compare it with the Crucial P310 2TB and buy whichever is cheaper that day.
