Value Score Breakdown

Our Verdict

$19.99 for a battery-powered handheld dimmer that controls lighting through Alexa Routines. There is no wiring, no wall installation, and no direct WiFi connection — it pairs with an existing Echo device and all commands route through that Echo. The dependency is real and non-obvious: without a powered Echo device within range, this remote does nothing. It is not a wall switch replacement and not a smart plug. The use case is narrow: adding tap-to-dim control to a specific room without electrical work, in a home already running Echo speakers. 297 reviews provides limited reliability data. Against the Amazon Smart Plug at $24.99, this costs $5 less but controls lighting via Alexa Routines rather than directly switching power on any outlet. Right buy for: Alexa households who already own an Echo device and want battery-powered dimming control in one room with zero electrical work. Without an existing Echo, this purchase requires one — adding at minimum $49.99 to the total cost.
