Our Verdict

At $199.99, the Emporia Vue 3 does not control anything — it monitors power consumption across up to 16 individual circuits using current transformers clamped around wires inside your electrical panel. Installation requires comfort with live-panel work; most buyers hire an electrician for initial setup, adding $80–150 to the cost. What you get in return: real-time per-circuit energy data in the Emporia app, historical tracking, and Home Assistant integration for advanced users. The 822 reviews are modest for this price point, but this is a niche product. No comparison to the smart plugs in this batch is meaningful — they automate device control; this tracks how much power those devices consume. Right buy for: homeowners with solar installations tracking net metering, households with unexplained high electricity bills, or Home Assistant users who want granular per-circuit energy dashboards. Not a device automation product.
