Our Verdict

The FIFINE AmpliGame AM8 is the right first desk microphone for streamers and podcasters who want both USB and XLR connectivity under $45. The dynamic capsule handles background noise and room echo better than condenser mics that dominate the budget tier, making it more forgiving in untreated rooms. At $44.99 with dual USB/XLR output, it is the only sub-$50 desktop dynamic mic with both connections in this group. The Sennheiser XS 1 at $55.00 is XLR-only and a handheld form factor, not a desktop mic. The Shure SM58 at $109.00 is the professional XLR handheld benchmark but costs $64 more. The AM8 is the correct starting point for streamers who want one mic that works with a laptop via USB now and connects to an audio interface via XLR later.
