Value Score Breakdown
Our Verdict
The LG 27UP850-W is a 27-inch 4K IPS monitor for colour-sensitive work, covering 95% of the DCI-P3 colour range with VESA DisplayHDR 400, and LG calibrates it for accurate colour out of the box. Its USB-C port carries video, data and up to 96W of charging, so a single cable connects and charges a laptop, including many MacBook Pro models. It has about 340 Amazon ratings at 4.3 stars. 4K at 27 inches gives very sharp text and detailed photos, and suits macOS scaling well. Its 60Hz refresh rate makes it a poor fit for fast gaming. Choose the 27UP850-W for photo and video editing or a clean single-cable laptop desk; for gaming, a high-refresh QHD monitor is the better buy, and for office work alone, a QHD model costs much less.
