The Pyle PDMIC58 is the budget way into XLR microphones at about $23, a fraction of the price of the Shure SM58 it is modelled on. It is a dynamic cardioid mic, so it rejects background noise well, and it comes with a 15-foot XLR cable, which the Shure does not include. The difference from the SM58 shows in the details: a thinner, less natural sound, higher handling noise and a less durable build.
