At $16, the Redragon K521 is a membrane gaming keyboard with RGB backlighting and 9,188 Amazon reviews — more reviews than any other keyboard in this category. It is the floor of full-size gaming keyboards: no mechanical switches, no media keys, 1-year warranty. At $16 it undercuts the TECKNET Wired Gaming Keyboard by $11. The Redragon K671 hot-swappable mechanical at $30 costs $14 more but delivers real mechanical switches, greater durability, and the ability to swap out switches if they fail. Right buy for: a temporary replacement keyboard, a secondary keyboard for a guest PC, or anyone who simply needs something functional under $20. It is not the right buy if you plan to use it more than a few hours daily — at that usage level, the $14 step up to a mechanical keyboard is worth every dollar.
