The SanDisk Optimus 5100 2TB is part of SanDisk's new 2026 Optimus line, the drives that took over from WD's consumer SSDs after the SanDisk spin-off. It is rated up to 7,100 MB/s read and 6,700 MB/s write over PCIe 4.0 with a 5-year warranty, and Amazon sells it directly. It uses QLC flash, which keeps the price down but gives lower endurance than TLC drives: SanDisk rates the 2TB model at 900TB written, enough for many years of normal use but less than the WD Black SN7100. Sustained large writes also slow down once its cache fills. It has 190 ratings at 4.7 stars so far. Choose it for a game library or everyday PC storage; if you write large files every day, a TLC drive such as the SN7100 is the safer pick.
