This NETGEAR Nighthawk is a tri-band WiFi 7 router rated at BE9300, NETGEAR's step up from the dual-band RS90 and RS140. The third band adds a 6GHz radio, which WiFi 7 phones and laptops can use for fast, uncongested connections near the router, while 2.4GHz and 5GHz cover the rest of the house. NETGEAR rates coverage at up to 2,500 square feet, and a multi-gig internet port means it will not bottleneck a fibre plan above 1Gbps. As with most NETGEAR routers, some advanced security features are sold as a subscription through the Nighthawk app, and the standard warranty is shorter than ASUS or TP-Link. It makes sense if you have multi-gig internet and several WiFi 7 devices. For a typical gigabit plan, TP-Link's tri-band Archer BE550 covers the same BE9300 class for less, and older devices will see little benefit from WiFi 7.
