The Seagate IronWolf 12TB extends the standard IronWolf NAS line to a capacity where many builders want to be: enough for a sizeable media library or several years of family backups in a 2- or 4-bay NAS. It spins at 7,200 RPM with conventional (CMR) recording, is rated for 24/7 use and a 180TB-per-year workload in enclosures of up to 8 bays, and carries a 3-year warranty with Seagate's Rescue data recovery. IronWolf Health Management reports drive health inside Synology, QNAP and other NAS software. The IronWolf line has more than 13,000 Amazon ratings at 4.5 stars. Its main rival is the WD Red Plus 12TB, also 7,200 RPM. Choose the IronWolf 12TB for a home or small-office NAS that needs more space per bay without paying for the Pro line's longer warranty; for heavy multi-user workloads, the IronWolf Pro is the step up.
