The Seagate IronWolf Pro 20TB is a professional NAS hard drive for large enclosures and small-business servers: 7,200 RPM with a 256MB cache, conventional (CMR) recording, a 300TB-per-year workload rating for up to 24 bays, and a 5-year warranty with Seagate's Rescue data recovery. Twenty terabytes per bay lets a small NAS hold a very large archive with fewer drives, which saves power and slots. Its Amazon record is thin, at about 340 ratings averaging 3.9 stars, and Amazon itself has often been out of stock, leaving third-party sellers to set the price, so check the seller. It is louder and warmer than 5,400 RPM drives. Choose the IronWolf Pro 20TB when capacity per bay and the 5-year warranty matter more than price; the 24TB model goes further, while home users with modest needs are better served by the standard IronWolf.
