Our Verdict

The 2026 Surface Laptop is Microsoft's current 13.8-inch model, moving to the newer 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD, and Amazon sells it directly. It keeps the touchscreen, keyboard and Copilot+ PC features of the line, and runs Windows 11 on Arm like the 2024 models. It launched in June 2026, so it has only 27 Amazon ratings so far, which is a thin record compared with the 2024 versions; treat the 4.4-star average as early. The interesting comparison is inside our own rankings: the 2024 Surface Laptop with the first-generation X Elite costs about the same and has twice the storage. Choose the 2026 model if you want the newest chip; choose the 2024 X Elite model if 1TB of storage matters more. As with every Arm Surface, check older apps and anti-cheat games first.
