Our Verdict

The Surface Laptop Ultra is Microsoft's first laptop built on NVIDIA's RTX Spark chip, and this is the base configuration: an 18-core RTX Spark with 24GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD. Microsoft confirmed a 15-inch mini-LED touchscreen rated up to 2,000 nits and a world-first breakaway USB-C port that pulls free if someone trips over the cable. It is aimed at creators, AI developers and engineers who want NVIDIA graphics and CUDA software in a slim Windows laptop. It ships on October 16, 2026, so there are no Amazon ratings or independent reviews yet, and battery life has not been measured outside Microsoft. It runs Windows 11 on Arm, which means some games with anti-cheat and older software may not work. My advice is to wait for the first reviews unless you need it now; if you do preorder, Amazon sells it directly, and this base model is the sensible starting point.
