The Synology DS225+ is Synology's mainstream two-bay NAS for users upgrading from an entry model or wanting the most dependable NAS software without prosumer pricing. It uses an Intel Celeron processor with hardware video transcoding, which helps Plex and Synology Photos, and runs DSM, whose backup, photo, surveillance and media apps work out of the box. It has 247 Amazon ratings at 4.6 stars. It is sold without drives. Its networking is slower than similarly priced UGREEN models, so large file transfers take longer. Choose the DS225+ if mature software and reliability matter more than raw speed; for faster hardware for the money, the UGREEN DXP2800 is the alternative.
