Which one should you buy?
Samsung 990 Pro 1TB
Choose the Samsung 990 Pro if you want a proven, widely-supported NVMe drive for gaming or daily use with excellent thermal management.
Seagate FireCuda 530 1TB
Choose the Seagate FireCuda 530 if you're in professional video production or a demanding workstation environment where maximum endurance is critical.
What the spec table doesn't show
The Seagate FireCuda 530's 1,275 TBW endurance at 1TB is the highest in its class — more than double the Samsung 990 Pro's 600 TBW. Seagate achieved this by using a more conservative SLC cache algorithm. In sustained 4K video write tests, the FireCuda 530 maintains its write speed longer before dropping to TLC write speeds. This distinction matters only if you write massive amounts of data daily.
Verdict
The Samsung 990 Pro is the better all-rounder for most buyers. The Seagate FireCuda 530 earns its place in professional editing rigs and creator workstations where write endurance justifies its typically higher price.
