The NETGEAR GS305 is a five-port gigabit switch from NETGEAR's Essentials line, and its rating is among the highest in the category. It is unmanaged and plug and play, runs silently without a fan, and can sit on a desk or mount on a wall. Like any five-port switch, one port goes to your router and four are left for wired devices at full gigabit speed. It is functionally equivalent to the TP-Link TL-SG105, so the choice between them usually comes down to price and brand preference; the TP-Link's metal case is a little sturdier.
