The TP-Link TL-SG108S-M2 brings eight 2.5Gbps ports to an unmanaged, silent switch. That matters when your internet plan is faster than 1Gbps, when you move large files between a PC and a NAS with 2.5G ports, or when several devices need to use the network heavily at the same time. Gigabit devices still work, just at 1Gbps on their port. It is fanless and can sit on a desk or mount on a wall. Its review base is smaller than TP-Link's gigabit switches, but ratings are strong. Before buying, check that your router, PC or NAS actually have 2.5G ports. If they do, this is a simple, reliable upgrade; if not, a gigabit switch does the same job for less.
