The TP-Link TL-SG116 is a 16-port gigabit switch for homes and small offices with many wired devices: home labs, security camera recorders, several consoles and PCs, or a room full of desks. It is unmanaged and fanless, with a metal case and shielded ports, and can sit on a desk or mount on a wall. Sixteen ports usually cost far less per port than two smaller switches, and one switch keeps cabling simpler than daisy-chaining. It offers no multi-gig ports, PoE or management features. For a typical home, an eight-port switch is enough. Choose the TL-SG116 when you have outgrown eight ports, or wire several rooms back to one central point.
