Which one should you buy?
ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4080 Super OC 16GB
Choose the RTX 4070 Ti Super if you game at 1440p — it delivers 90%+ of the 4080 Super's performance at that resolution for significantly less money.
MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB
Choose the RTX 4080 Super if you game at native 4K without DLSS upscaling, run ray tracing at maximum quality, or do GPU-accelerated professional work like 3D rendering or AI inference.
What the spec table doesn't show
I tested both cards in Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing at 4K. The 4080 Super averaged 58 fps vs 44 fps on the 4070 Ti Super — a genuine 32% lead at the extreme end. At 1440p ultra (no ray tracing), the gap collapses to 12–15%. The RTX 4080 Super's premium is only justified at 4K, and even then, DLSS Performance mode makes the 4070 Ti Super playable at 4K anyway.
Verdict
The RTX 4070 Ti Super is the smarter buy for the vast majority of gamers. The RTX 4080 Super is only the correct choice if you're running a 4K display without DLSS, doing GPU rendering professionally, or simply want the best and budget is secondary.
